Ensemble simulations show you the best- and worst-case scenarios.
This project will produce a cloud computing-based, agriculture-focused, decision support tool that will allow stakeholders within the Assiniboine River Basin to obtain soil moisture, groundwater, and surface water forecasts for a 7-day forward looking time interval. The tool will provide insights on how beneficial soil and landscape management practices could influence soil moisture, groundwater, and surface water conditions. This will help producers to optimally manage their field operations and livestock feed supply in the face of extreme weather and give real-time information on how they could potentially benefit from management practices that help build climate resiliency into their operations.
The Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association (MFGA) has supported and provided strategic direction to the forage and livestock industry in Manitoba for nearly 30 years. MFGA represents a strong, engaged producer network and their producer-led board and dedicated staff help provide important knowledge from the industry and government levels to the farm-gate.
